As of today we’re pleased to make the online textbook Critical Language Awareness: Language Power Techniques and English Grammar openly available for use as an open educational resource for writing and grammar courses that want to focus on developing critical language awareness as part of writing instruction. The textbook can be used to teach language power techniques and grammar features together or separately, and the four language power techniques: Metaphor, Doublespeak, Address Forms & Pronoun Choice, and Name-calling are also available as separate, standalone modules. Each module includes discussion/reflection questions, links to integrated and optional videos and external readings, and interactive activities.
